The humble coffee shop serves a crucial role in our daily lives, whether it’s for a quick caffeine fix during our morning commute, a gathering spot to catch up with friends, or a peaceful refuge for focused work. While Penticton may not boast an extensive coffee scene, it does offer some exceptional choices. Whether you prefer a vegan bistro or a hidden gem tucked away in a trade center, here are the top coffee shops in Penticton, as recommended by a local.
One14 Coffee Co
Location: 1475 Fairview Rd, Penticton
Website
One14 Coffee is Penticton’s newest coffee shop. And it has quickly turned into a favourite for locals! Located in the Cannery Trade Center, One 14 Coffee is a colourful addition hoping to bring additional foot traffic to this historic venue.
We love One14 Coffee for a few reasons. First, the aesthetic: a Miami-inspired, art-deco vibe…say no more. Second, the food: a very thoughtful collection of baked goodies made in-house by Handful Of. Dare I say some of the best baked goods in town? I’m talking quiche, cookies, brownies, scones and more. And finally of course the coffee: the coffee beans are from The Local Chemist, known for their direct trade and zero emissions coffee roastery. And served to you in a sustainable paper cup. Highly, highly recommend.
Stillfood Bistro & Cappuccino Bar
Location: 75 Front St, Penticton
Website
Stillfood Bistro & Cappuccino Bar is a fantastic new addition to the coffee scene in Penticton. This is the second location after the first location being a big success in Salmon Arm.
The inside is large and airy with modern industrial design. Lots of casual seating with counter service but they also offer table service if you plan to stick around to enjoy your coffee (or a meal). Speaking of meals, not only does Stillfood Bistro & Cappuccino Bar offer croissants, cinnamon rolls and muffins to enjoy with your coffee but they have a full brunch/lunch/dinner menu with bowls, wraps and sandwiches. And did I mention they’re entirely vegan!? Yup everything, including the incredibly realistic eggs are vegan.
Stillfood Bistro & Cappuccino Bar serves Tug 6 coffee for a truly Okanagan coffee experience.
Wayne & Freda
Location: 249 Westminster Ave W #105, Penticton
Website
Wayne & Freda is definitely one of the best coffee shops in Penticton for locals and tourists alike. On a warm summer day, you can expect a long lineup out the door. Beach goers, cyclists, families and friends all love to get caffeinated at Wayne & Frida. But boy is it worth the wait! Their space is built in what feels like an old warehouse with shipping containers repurposed as a large outdoor patio area. When the season allows for it, the HUGE doors stay open for an indoor/outdoor vibe in the cafe. The design of the space is fun and stylish with a statement nook for seating, fresh exterior murals for signage and a beautiful 20ft counter on loan from the Summerland museum. We love a bit of old mixed in with the new!
Wayne & Freda doesn’t just serve coffee but also smoothies, sandwiches, toasts and grain bowls. Add an egg atop one of their fancy toasts and call it brunch. A great spot to settle in with work or meet up with a group of friends.

Seis Cielo
Location: 166 Main St #102, Penticton
Website
Seis Cielo is a hidden gem coffee shop in Penticton. It is in an unsuspecting location, up a flight of stairs into a small office building and then through windowless doors with a handwritten sign saying “yes there’s a coffee shop back here”. The first time I went I tried the door and it was locked. After double checking the hours, both online and on their exterior signage I figured I must be doing something wrong. I tried the door again and yep you have to turn the knob backwards to get in. It is not easy to get inside but once you do, you won’t be disappointed.
The space is unassumingly large with a roastery in the back, where they roast and sell their own beans. Past the coffee counter there are a handful of rooms with seats for working or relaxing. It is a windowless space but it is decorated to be cozy and moody. One room is set up with a large table (for meetings?) and the other has velvet pink and emerald couches, an eclectic gallery wall and bags of coffee beans piled in the center. There is also a loft with additional seating up a flight of stairs.
Serving small-batch Honduran specialty coffee, this is without a doubt the best coffee in Penticton. It might not be the most popular, bustling cafe but if high-quality coffee is what you are after then please do yourself a favour and visit Seis Cielo.
Sociale Cafe
Location: 950 Lakeshore Dr W, Penticton
Website
Sociale is usually an upscale Italian restaurant on Lakeshore drive with picturesque views of Okanagan Beach. But did you know they also moonlight (or should I say…daylight) as a cafe? Everyday between 8am and 2pm, Caffē Al Socialē is open for all your lakeside coffee needs. They serve the coffee shop classics plus depending on the day they also have a delicious collection of baked goods. I had an absolutely delightful apple fritter.
In the warmer months they have a large patio right on Lakeshore drive making this the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee with a view.

The Bench Market
Location: 368 Vancouver Ave, Penticton
Website
The Bench Market is an iconic stop in Penticton. Known primarily as a brunch spot they also are an excellent choice for a simple cup of coffee and a baked goodie. Stop by on a Friday for their house made donuts. This is definitely one of the best coffee shops in Penticton.

Honey Toast Cafe
Location: 66 Front St, Penticton
Website
Honey Toast Cafe is more than just a good cup of coffee in Penticton. It is also a bakery with homestyle baking such as cookies, scones, cakes and pies with everything made in house. The space is cozy. Like so cozy there’s almost no spots for dine-in customers, except on a warmer day when the patio is open. The walls feature art from local artists, available for sale with all proceeds going directly to the artists.
